Margaret O’Connor is an exhibited artist residing in Northern Ireland, who has a passion for drawing and sketching and began painting as a hobby around twenty years ago but it wasn’t until she enrolled on an art course at the North West Regional College in Limavady that her paintings took on a life of their own.
Margaret approached D4 Webdesign to build an ecommerce website where she could effectively show her portfolio, prints for sale and allow user to commission a portrait online. The website was supported by Rural Development Programme and the brief required the setup of variable product pricing and flexlible shipping control.
Another key challenge was the percentile payment scheme for commissioned products by default set at 30% but client can control this.
A beautiful clean website was produced and client was very happy with the end result. The use of clean layout and collage galleries allow user to see portrait without overflow or trimming.
The ecommerce product options are setup so Margaret can easily manage product options. The advanced commission portrait was a challenging task with many portrait sizes to be factored in.
